An excellent and timely piece Mario. I have had years of minor heart problems when doctors periodically panic at my EKG. I will link my poem about my recent hospital experience in Poland below. I find myself being treated by an eminent cardiologist who describes himself as holistic but is clearly anything but. I am grateful for the tests but the system is countered by another view from my partner's employer who runs an integrative medicine centre. Suffice to say we have found an alternate to statins and hope to surprise the young cardiologist with beneficent results. I also wonder how much he is paid for pushing pharmaceutical products. I have no doubt we have entered a system I am dubious about.
