Lonely Gods ~ a poem

Some moments are offered only once
Desolate invitations from lonely gods
They just want a glimpse, a dance
Perhaps a song of recognition

Blind are we who cannot see
Beyond mall, school, and corporate lunch
Ethereal things, they slip away
A river that does not tarry long

Life is happening ‘Here!’ they cry
But we humans pass on by and by
Fools and madmen must learn to dwell
In nature’s treasured citadel
