That is so on point John and yes I hav had exactly the same experience. A little fun sparring can be invigorating but there is always one at least who needs to bring an unpleasant edge out of insecurity and unresolved wounds. Sounds like you did well with your friend but if he does need professional help feel free to send him my way. I have always valued love and brotherhood over needing to win.
